Bonaire and French Guiana Advance in CFU Men’s Cup

Bonaire, thanks to a better goal difference are into the next round of the 2014 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Cup.

In a tense game against host Montserrat in Group 1, both teams played to a 0-0 draw at the Montserrat Football Complex last evening.

Montserrat finished second and U S Virgin Islands third.

Meanwhile, at the Complejo Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium in Aruba, French Guiana defeated host Aruba 2-0 in Group 2 to advance into the next round after earning a maximum nine points.

The goal scorers were David Martinon and Gary Pigree in the 60th and 88th minute respectively.

Aruba placed second while Turks and Caicos won their first game 2-0 against British Virgin Islands and placed third.

Scoring for Turks and Caicos were Marc Fenelus in the 32nd minute and Stevens Derilien in the 52nd.

Games will continue starting September 3, with the staging of Groups 3, 4, 5 and 6.
