All is in place for the staging of the finals of the inaugural Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Caribbean Cup in Trinidad and Tobago, come August 19-26, when eight top teams from across the Caribbean region will battle for the title and official qualification into the CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The preliminary stages of the tournament began on May 23, 2014 and ended on June 22, in five countries namely Antigua & Barbuda, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, Haiti and Dominican Republic.
It culminates in Trinidad and Tobago where the finals will be hosted. The teams qualified for this historic event are Antigua & Barbuda, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Martinique, Haiti, St Kitts & Nevis, Jamaica and hosts Trinidad and Tobago.
All eight teams will contest the finals in two Groups; 1 and 2 from which four teams will advance to the next stage.
