After delays from hurricane Matthew, the final matches of the Scotiabank CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup kicked off with French Guiana stunning favorites Haiti. The visitors rallied from two nil down to defeat Haiti 5 – 2.
Jerome Mechack opened the scoring for Haiti early in the 4th minute, followed by Nazon Duckens doubling the home nations lead to 2 – 0 in the 27th minute. French Guiana would pull one back in the 38th minute through Sloan Privat ending the first half 2 – 1.
The second half saw French Guiana continue their recovery from the first half as privat doubled his tally in the 58th minute then completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute of play. Rhudy Evens added a fourth in the 67th minute and finally Ludovic Baal completed the scoring in the 90th minute ending the match 5 – 2 in favour of French Guiana.
