Haiti and St Lucia tops Group A in the Final Rounds of the 2014 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Under-17 Qualifiers with nine and four points respectively, while Trinidad & Tobago ended up with three points and Barbados a single point.
Last evening at the Sylvio Cator Stadium, Haiti defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 while St Lucia came from behind to draw level with Barbados 1-1. Scoring for Haiti were Jacques Saul Metellus in the 14th, and Davidson Claude in the 56th and 69th, while Omani Leacock netted for Barbados in the 55th minute and Antoine Wilfred scored in the 72nd for St Lucia.
Both top teams from Group A, awaits the results from the Group B games scheduled to be played today, Friday, October 24th to know which team it faces in the finals and the third and fourth playoff.
In the early game Guadeloupe and Martinique will do battle at 4:00pm while at 6:30pm it will be a do or die situation when defending Champions Cuba and Jamaica with six points each, meet in a crucial game to decide the winner of this group. Both games will be played at the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-Au-Prince.
The two top teams from both groups along with the best third placed team will advance to the 2015 CONCACAF Championship scheduled to be staged in Honduras.
