Haiti are CFU Under 17 Champions

Port AU Prince, Haiti - Thousands of local Haitians gathered to witness their nation Haiti grab the Caribbean Football Union's Under 17 Championship Trophy by defeating Jamaica 2 - 0.

It was tense atmosphere at the Stade Sylvio Cartor as two Caribbean powerhouses in Haiti and Jamaica would lock horns to see who will be crowned the 2014 under 17 Champion.

Haiti's opponent the young ReggaeBoyz went into the match confident, knowing just like their counterpart Haiti they also finished top of Group B perfect with 9 points. But it was the host nation's night as they claim victory with 2 goals in each half from Jacques Saul Metellus in the 20th and 75th minutes respectively.

Earlier in the 3rd place match St. Lucia would fall to Cuba who won by 2 goals to nil. Both goals were scored in the first half as Carlos Cerbranco opened scoring in the 16th minute of play. Cuba would then double the lead as Raycharle Herrera doubled the Cubans lead in the 37th minute of play.

After a great week of youth football the Caribbean Union Football gave special awards to the outstanding players, teams and officials.
