TRINIDAD and TOBAGO – Haiti retained the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s U-17 title with a 5-0 rout of second-placed Cuba in the finals on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago. Steeve Moondestin 36', Steeve Selso Saint-Duc 55', Jean Danley 65', Louidon Cassues 78', and Nael Elysee 90' were the goal-scorers.
Jamaica clinched third place, netting three unanswered goals in their encounter with Curacao. Nicque Daley (48’ and 70’) and Raewin Senior (21’) scored for Jamaica. The Fair Play Award went to Curacao while Haiti swept the other awards: Golden Glove Redondio Alliance, Golden Boots and MVP Steeve Selso Saint-Duc.
Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, Curacao and Suriname advanced to the 2017 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship from April 21-May 7, 2017 in Panama. They will join Canada, Mexico, Suriname, the United States, Panama and three still-to-be-decided teams from Central America.
