Haiti and Aruba took the lead in Group B of the Final Round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2014 Men’s Under 20 Qualifiers by defeating their opponents in the games which started at the Ato Bolden Stadium, in Trinidad and Tobago today, Saturday, September 13.
Haiti beat Dominican Republic 2-1 and Aruba did likewise to St Kitts & Nevis. Junior Patterson Joseph netted twice for Haiti in the 20th and 36th minute while Frank Felix Matos Marte scored the consolation goal for Dominican Republic in the 68th minute.
Aruba led St Kitts and Nevis 2-0 for the better part of their encounter until in the 78th minute when Tahir Hanley penetrated the Aruba defense line and sent one pass the Aruban Custodian ending the game 2-1.
Games continue tomorrow Sunday, September 14, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium with Cuba and Suriname doing battle in the first game at 4:00pm and host Trinidad and Tobago facing Curacao at 6:00pm.
The Finals will be staged at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on September 19,with the top teams advancing to the CONCACAF U-20 finals.
